Fyrn Landscapes
Garden Consulting & Specialty Services
Serving San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and the East Bay.
Not every project fits a standard service. If you need expert guidance, a specialist brought in occasionally, or help solving a specific problem, this is where we start.
Who This Is For
You're a DIYer who wants expert guidance, not someone to do it all for you. You handle your own garden care but want expert input when it counts. You have specimen ornamentals that need skilled hands a few times a year, but nothing more. You have a crew for regular maintenance and need a skilled specialist a few times a year. Your vegetable beds or fruit trees aren't as productive as they used to be, and you're not sure why. You're ready to turn over your beds for a new season, but want to handle the ongoing care yourself.
Whatever the situation, if your project doesn't fit neatly into maintenance or design, consulting is probably the right fit.
Specialty Pruning & Seasonal Plant Care
Some plants need more than general maintenance. I specialize in aesthetic pruning and fruit tree care. This is precise, intentional work that shapes a plant over time. Many clients bring me in two or three times a year just for this.
Irrigation Consulting
If your irrigation schedule never seems right, there's a better approach. I calculate your garden's actual water needs based on your plants, soil, and microclimate so you can stop guessing. I specialize in drip irrigation and can convert or reconfigure your existing system to improve efficiency and lower your water bill.
Nursery Visits & Plant Selection
Excited to start your garden, but not sure which plants will actually thrive in your space? I'll go to the nursery with you. We'll select plants suited to your conditions and plan placement so they have room to grow. Then I can plant them for you or you can take it from there yourself.
Get a Custom Proposal
Consulting looks different for every client. It might be a single site visit, a hands-on training session, a specific project, a few visits per year, or an on-call arrangement when you need an expert. Tell me what you're working with and I'll propose something that fits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer one-time consultations? Yes. A single site visit is one of the most common ways to work together. You get a clear assessment, specific recommendations, and a plan you can act on with no ongoing commitment required.
How much does a garden consultation cost? Consulting is priced based on scope. I'll put together a custom proposal based on your garden's needs. Contact me to get started.
Can you help me learn to care for my own garden? That's exactly what hands-on training is for. We work in your garden together. I show you what to do and explain why. You build the skills to handle it yourself going forward.
What does an irrigation consultation include? I assess your current system, calculate your garden's actual water needs, and give you a clear schedule and adjustment strategy. If your system needs reconfiguration or conversion to drip, I can handle that too.
I already have a maintenance crew. Can I still hire you? Yes. Many clients bring me in specifically for work that falls outside their crew's skill set: aesthetic pruning, fruit tree care, irrigation troubleshooting, or seasonal plant selection. It works well as an occasional specialist arrangement.
Do you help with nursery visits? Yes. I'll go to the nursery with you, help you select plants suited to your specific conditions, and plan placement so they have room to grow. From there, you can plant them yourself or I can do it for you.
